Solgar Astaxanthin 5 mg is extracted from the alga Haematococcus pluvialis. This alga is considered the richest source of this carotenoid, which is responsible for the pink-orange color of salmon, redfish, trout and the feathers of flamingos, among others. Astaxanthin is soluble in both fat and water.
